It Must Be Santa

Well sometime it takes a while before an idea comes into play as it did with this photo of my 2 Grandsons picture with Santa last year, I think this will be the last picture of the 2 of them together with Santa (brave 13 year old). I've worked on this on an off for several months and finally said OK, get it DONE.  I wanted it up for Christmas.

I saw that Creative Embellishments  was having a Challenge on their blog and decided I wanted to share my Scrap Page, have never posted a scrapbook page.

I heat embossed White snowflakes with the help of my little grandson and then he painted the wooded snowflakes. I added greenery with and make a Santa bag with toys.

A CHALLENGE???  I wonder what that can be - oh that's right I heard someone mention that the other day.  It means you have to go with some guidelines.

Well over at  Joan's Gardens   she is having a fall challenge and you need to include the following on your card:

Leaves on your card                                    CK
Fall Colors                                                    CK
Tree and/or bird (think a branch will do)       CK
You must use a product sold at  Joan's Gardens. Well that's not a problem because I like her shop and I find lots to buy there.                           CK

Now I think I can do this:

With all the beautiful fall weather we have been having this week it won't be hard to put this card together.  I started to with 2 shades  of Bazzil CS and then a pin dot Kraft CS that I stamped with background design from JustRite using TH Peeled Paint. I then stamped Penny Black fall stamps onto Basic Grey DP and fussy cut them out and then distressed with TH Pumice Stone. The twigs are a Memory Box die. The orange flourish is MFT as are the Curly Q's. These were all distressed and then I used the flower tool to break down the fibers in the paper to shape and curl up the Curly Q's.  The sentiment is from JustRite. The ribbon is from my stash.

All of the above products (except the DP) can be purchased at   www.atjoansgardens.com

This has been fun and hope you have enjoyed my fall card.  See you soon.

Hugs until then,

Gretchen

The twins.

Last April 201l, my niece gave birth to 2 beautiful identical twins.  The only way they could tell them apart by painting a toe nail, one pink and the other lavender.  So along with there gift I made cards for the girls.  Denise (the MOM) was so excited when I took them out in May along with the little angels she said she was going to hang them up in there room. Now a year later, they have joined their  older sister Katie to share a room for 3.  So I need to get busy and do one to go with the twins.  I chose another Magnolia, done in pencil and copic markers.  They were fuzzy cut and I also used Spellbinders dies and MS punch around.  Not sure of DP.  My memory only goes so far.  You know what happens to seniors.

Hope you enjoy the cards and I will be back again real soon.

Cards in the Past.

Good morning, it's been awhile and I've been trying to get back to blogging.  With my grandson here he has helped me a lot on the computer in trying to get picture downloaded and teaching some tricks.  So I think that maybe I can try getting some old pictures of cards that I have made quite awhile back but was never able to get them up.  So we will try now.

The one is here is my very first Magnolia that I did for a friend last spring 2011 for helping me get a real good deal for a flight to Atlanta.  So I had to do a Girl picking Peaches since GA is the Peach State.
I don't remember all the paper that I used, but it was done in Pencil and I added Flower Soft by the fence. If I remember right I colored her face with Copic Markers.  She was also fuzzy cut. Hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed do it for a big Thank you to S.

Thanks for stopping and please come back again.

Back in my Groove

It's about time I get back to posting and believe I have quite a bit to post, but won't get get all finished tonight.
I'm enter the Joan's Gardens weekly challenge and it's do tomorrow.  Although I've had my card finished way before this challenge came up, I knew I had to go ahead and enter.  I don't meet all the requirements, but I did do a Vintage Card, have feathers(no not chicken), could be a "Great Blue Herron", but I'd  have to climb upon the roof to see if he left a feather.  Yes this is true, he was on our roof for over 15 hours.  I will post pictures later.

Back to the card.
I use Kaiser DP for the background, Bazzil CS, Polynesian Oval by Cherry Lynn, Inkadinkado stamp, and feathers, tiny rose buds. Face is colored with Copic markers, and Prisma pencil.
I have always love hats and that's why I fell in love with this stamp.  I have about 40 or so hats in my collection, many from my high school years, along with a few of my Mothers and Sisters. I have an old black velvet one that was my Grandmothers and is over hundreds years old.  Many other new and antiques one and some that I have even made myself.

So now here is my card for the Challenge.  Hope you enjoy it as my as I enjoyed making it.
